Ajman Free Zone Authority (AFZA), one of the cost effective alternatives to the established Free Zones in UAE, has introduced a new license category for e-commerce enterprises, a move which will facilitate online business entrepreneurs’ partner with the free zone to tap into the rapidly growing e-commerce segment of the GCC and the region.
The new license category will allow entrepreneurs leverage the growth potential of e-commerce across B2C as well as B2B opportunities.
Currently, entrepreneurs who wish to engage in e-commerce activities has to choose normal trading license category with specific activities that are close the e-commerce activities. This tend to create a lot of uncertainties for the investors as well as regulators.
The new license category from Ajman Free Zone is expected to solve the above problem and offer a more convenient and cost effective alternative to the investors. The details of cost, terms and condition s are not known yet.
The GCC market for B2C e-commerce sales is estimated to be in the range of USD 3 – 3.5 Billion which is projected to reach USD 13 – 15 Billion by 2015.
